Manager of Purchasing                   

Madison, WI Area Manufacturer 

The Company:  A well-established Madison, Wisconsin area manufacturer is experiencing steady growth based upon strong demand for their innovative products in their commercial and industrial sectors.  They are seeking a well-qualified Purchasing professional to lead the Supply Chain Management team in support of the continued expansion of the business.

The Opportunity: The Manager of Purchasing will lead and manage the Supply Chain Management functions in serving existing and new customers and will have direct procurement responsibility for designated, strategic suppliers.  This position plays an integral role in the accomplishment of company objectives and requires regular interaction with all levels of the organization and suppliers.

Our Requirements:  Well-qualified candidates will have a minimum of seven years of relevant Purchasing / Supply Chain / Materials management experience in long-lead, custom or stock manufacturing environments and a BA/BS or equivalent in Business, Engineering Construction or Construction Technologies (e.g. electrical, HVAC, etc.); CPM certification is desired.  Commercial Construction background desired.  10+ years of progressive leadership roles is required.  Excellent leadership, management and communications skills are required, including having a respectful, developmental leadership style while holding themselves and team members accountable for results.  The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and at all levels of the organization is essential.  Must have a proven track record of leading complex projects to completion and have strong analytical and problem resolution skills. Proficiency with MS Office and ability to learn new software is required.

Marketing & Member Services Assistant – The Alliance

Madison, Wisconsin

The Organization:  Celebrating 20+ years as a not-for-profit, employer-owned cooperative, The Alliance exists to help our members manage their health care costs, improve quality and engage individuals in their health.  We contract with more than 7,000 providers and specialists and provide members with tools to understand quality and cost with our QualityCounts™ reports.  We provide information and resources to help employers make health care purchases based on value and develop a healthier workforce.

 The Opportunity:  The Marketing & Member Services Assistant is an integral position responsible for supporting the goals and activities of the marketing, member services and sales functions.  Reporting to the VP of Marketing and Member Services, the person will provide administrative, project and technical support in a wide variety of areas relevant to service delivery to internal staff and our members.

Primary areas of responsibilities include:

Member Services and Sales

  • Facilitating bringing on new member organizations and handling any administrative changes for existing members
  • Managing the annual process of engaging reinsurance carriers in reviewing the performance of The Alliance® network with the goal of securing discounts
  • Securing discounts with health clubs and other wellness-related vendors
  • Researching and preparing information on potential prospects for sales staff
  • Representing The Alliance at member health/benefit fairs and enrollment meetings
  • Preparing informational packets for sales and member service meetings


Marketing / Customer Relationship Management (CRM) 

  • Producing extensive reports and lists from CRM
  • Educating and training staff on the use of CRM
  • Conducting marketing campaigns through CRM

 

Marketing / Events Planning

  • Coordinating all activities with event venues, including meeting room set up, A/V and food and beverage
  • Handling participant registrations, RSVP’s, speaker travel and logistics
  • Preparing, collating and packing event materials
  • Responsible for day-of event set up and logistics; this requires reporting to work by 6:30 a.m. twelve times a year
  • Handling all activities related to filing of human resources and insurance agent continuing education (CE) credits

 

Marketing / Administrative

  • Assists in selecting and ordering specialty items and clothing
  • Handles logistical coordination of activities tied to The Alliance exhibiting and sponsoring other organizations’ events
  • Conducts extensive mail merges for marketing communications
  • Provides administrative assistance to the marketing areas, including marketing communications, product development and product management and research
  • Provides occasional receptionist backup for vacations and other absences

Requirements

The ideal candidate will be a well-organized, highly motivated self-starter who is creative, results-focused, responsive and service driven. S/he should possess a record of successful customer or member service. Well-qualified candidates will possess the following qualifications:

  • An Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in marketing or related field and a minimum of one year experience in a professional setting; a Bachelor’s degree is desired  
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Office and have expert level capabilities in Word & Excel
  • Experience in CRM software and data base reporting is strongly desired  
  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications and listening skills are essential. Must be able to clearly communicate with internal staff and a variety of external parties, including members (customers), agents, third-party administrators, speakers and vendor partners
  • Must be energetic, mission-driven and comfortable in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Able to work well with multiple managers on a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Effective process and project planning skills are required
  • Attention to detail and excellent proofing and review skills are required
  • Prior event / meeting planning experience is desired
  • Health insurance or health benefit experience is a plus
  • Able to contribute in a team environment
